Egg tempera uses pigments, mostly earth pigments, ground in water then mixed with egg yolk as a binder. The paintings are characterized by a brilliant, luminous crispness and high color register.

The exhibition began at the Moll Art Center at Anna Maria College in Worcester, Mass, and is currently at the Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Fla.

In September the show will move to Mary Washington College Museum in Fredericksburg and conclude in November at the Wisteriahurst Museum in Holyoke, Mass.

Patton Wilson, of Sperryville, is a realist painter who works in oils, egg tempera, watercolor, and casein.
