at approximately 9 p.m. as the sun sets. They are lit in memory and in honor of loved ones and friends who have had cancer. Everyone is invited to attend.
You do not need to be an actual participant in the celebration to take part in the tribute. With your donation, the individuals you designate will be labeled on the luminaries to be lit on Friday evening. Luminaries cost $5 a piece and can be purchased from Relay Team members or from Mary Ann Krammes, Luminaria Chairperson, 75 Round Hill Road. Boston, Va. 22713. Persons should be designated in memory of or in honor of (cancer survivors! and checks made payable to the American Cancer Society.
This is a community event celebrating cancer survivors and fighting for more of them in the future. Another good way to join in the fight against cancer is to join or sponsor a team or generously contribute to a team.
