on a light 60 seconds after a golf ball was launched. Their scores resulted in third in the state.

John Ferdetta and Henry Robertson returned in the Radio Control Transportation contest to place third in the state. They made modifications to a RC racer to make it able to pick up condiment cups and return them to a storage area. The duct tape beaters along with a lifting mechanism powered by a cordless screwdriver was a sight to see.

Their advisor, Mr. Ron Vickers, said, “I am proud of our students behavior while at the conference and am not surprised at all of their achievements.

Rappahannock continues to turn out leaders in technology in our state. We are thankful to have support from our teachers and administration to allow the students to attend the weekend long conference.”

It is anticipated that more students will qualify for the state level contests next year. RCHS will host the northern regional event next spring. Individuals that would like to help by being a judge or sponsor should call the school at 987-8575 for more information.
