Contestants sought
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is currently seeking contestants for their annual fire queen. Interested girls up to age 21 should contact Joyce Lillard at 987-8952. The carnival will be held June 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Super Pantry course offered
“Super Pantry for Mom and Me" sponsored through a partnership between Virginia Cooperative Extension and Blue Ridge Food Bank will be held at Washington Baptist Church beginning May 21 for seven weeks from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Nutrition education for Moms and children ages four and up will be offered along with lunch, a bag of groceries each week, games and prizes. There will also be a Life Skills speaker each week. For child care and registration call Jan Besecker at 6753619 or Judy Stevens at 727-3435.
Healing talk planned
“Can God Free Us From Fear. Despair, Disease?” will be the focus of a free public talk by Cynthia Neely, a Chnstian Science practitioner and teacher in the Fauquier High School cafeteria on Sunday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m. The talk is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Warrenton and illustrates how Christian prayer brings healing.
