County farmers
invited to tour
On Saturday, Sept. 7 the Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District is conducting a conservation tour highlighting conservation projects on local farms, both completed and in-progress and Rappahannock farmers are invited.
Participants will visit farms in Greene, Madison and Orange Counties, traveling by airconditioned bus. Join the free tour and learn about opportunities and advantages of cost share programs, waste management systems, water development, forested stream buffers, and rotational grazing.
The tour leaves at 8:30 a.m. from the south parking lot of the Madison War Memorial Building. A free lunch at Sal’s is included. Call the Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District at 825-8591 for details.
