.Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Pullen was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas J. Dwyer and Edward O. Dwyer, two sisters, Bessie D. Bailey and Helen Louise Dwyer, and one great-grandchild, Bobby Smoot, Jr.
Mrs. Pullen was the last member of her immediate family and the last of her generation in the Dwyer family.
Mrs. Pullen had several talents, among which was her ability to make braided rugs. Many sizes, shapes and colors were made by her and sold in all parts of the country and some overseas. Her rugs were distinguished in that she “hooked” them rather than sewed them enabling the customer to use them on either side. Many Rappahannock residents would refer to Mrs. Pullen as “The Rug Maker of Rappahannock.”
Her survivors include six children and their spouses, Mrs. Florine Baldwin and husband, Charley of Slate Mills, John W. Pullen and wife, Dorothy of Boston, David L. Pullen Sr. and wife Anna of Sperryville, Clyde M. Pullen and wife Betty of Washington, Roy L. Pullen Sr. and wife Frances of Washington and Mrs. Kathy Pullen and husband, Ray of Sperryville.
Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, five great-step-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lorene Dwyer of Sperryville and Mrs. Alice Beahm of Washington and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 26 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. John K. Burke and Pastor Tim Atkins officiating.
Interment followed in Washington Masonic Cemetery.

Chester Gap resident
Gilberta Doris Moore of Chester Gap died on Thursday, Aug. 15.
She was the wife of the late Clarence L. Moore.
In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Dobson.
Mrs. Moore resided with her son, Gary and his wife Teresa and grandson, Adam Moore at Chester Gap.
Other survivors include another son, Dan Moore and his wife, Lucy of Ocean City, Md.; seven grandchildren, Samantha Moore, Betsy
