Annual meeting scheduled
Southern States Front Royal Cooperative will hold its annual membership meeting on Friday. Aug. 30 at Bowling Green Country Club — North. 838 Bowling Green Road, Front Royal beginning at 7:45 p.m. With the theme "Growing Solutions Since 1923,” the meeting will include reports on both local and company-wide operations. Rappahannock farmers are encouraged to attend.
Food sanitation course planned
The 2002 Fall Food Sanitation Certification course has been scheduled. The course and ServSafe Essentials textbook utilize the new 2001 Model Food Code from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The course will be offered in Warrenton at the Fauquier Extension office. 24 Pelham Street. Sept. 9 and 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pre-registered cost is $104 per person. To register, contact the Rappahannock Extension Office 675-3619 before the registration deadline of noon Sept. 6.
Civil War walking tour set
The Civil War walking tour, sponsored by the Museum of Culpeper History, will begin at the Culpeper Visitors Center. 109 South Commerce Street on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a m. Join tour guide, Virginia Morton, as she leads a fascinating tour with intriguing stories of the Civil War era, through Historic Downtown Culpeper. A fee of $8 is charged for 18 and older. Hospice volunteer training set
FamilyCare Home Health and Hospice Care has scheduled volunteer training for Sept. 9 and 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The training is open to anyone in the community who is 18 and older and will be held in the Birthing Center at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
Training will focus on how to interface with patients and/or family members when death has occurred or is imminent. FamilyCare serves residents of Rappahannock. Culpeper. Orange and Madison Counties. For information or to register call Nancy Wells at 829-5764 no later than Friday, Sept. 6.
