Amid splashing and crunching, parents, students, and faculty got together Saturday evening for the annual end of summer pool party/cookout held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center. Over 160 people showed up for what is billed as the "Last Gasp of Summer" bash, which gave families an opportunity to meet new people and to catch up with old friends.
The students were excited to see each other again, and the teachers looked remarkably relaxed. Mr Michael Vargo, outfitted in an apron from Whitney „ Matthews, manned the grills. His trusty sidekick, Mrs. Linda Hammelman, was a real trooper, as the heat from the grills competed with the heat of the day. Boy, was it hot!
Many, many thanks go out to all of the families who contributed great food, wonderful conversation, and elbow grease setting everything up. Thanks also go out to the 4-H Center for such great facilities, especially the pool.
