Mrs. Hazel Cubbage will celebrate her day.
Our thoughts and prayers of sympathy go out to Mrs. Florine Baldwin of Route 707, and Mr. John Pullen of Route 522 upon the loss of their mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Pullen of Sperryville who at 83 years of age passed away at her home on Friday, after a long period of declining health.
The days seem to go by so swiftly and its. time for the Salem “singing and pickin” party again, to be held at the Salem Fire Hall on Route 522, Friday, Aug. 30 beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing until 10 p.m. As always food and beverages will be sold by the fire department.
On Saturday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. the second singing and pickin party will be held this time in Amissville at Hackley's Store. The public is cordially invited to each of these events.
Congratulations are in order for the Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue, as they were awarded first place as having the best appearing company and Salem Fire and Rescue came in second at the recent Brandy Station Fire Department Parade.
All alumni of George Washington Carver Regional High School, living in our area are reminded of the reunion to be held Friday evening in Fredericksburg at the Holiday Inn. Please mark Aug. 30 on your calendar and don’t miss it. For additional information call Betty at 825y2D1945.
