len I read a recent letter VV complaining about Ben Jones, I was astonished at how anyone could mangle the facts so badly. But I quickly realized that this is a sign of Republican desperation. Ben Jones has gained so much in the polls that it appears that they will try a new approach. His opponent cannot run successfully against Ben, so his opponent is trying to run against somebody else. Really , folks, if our current congressman wants to run against Hillary Clinton, he should move to New York.
He has been a congressman for two terms, twice as long as our current congressman. Check his web site, at www.benjonesforcongress.com or talk to him yourself. What is happening in political terms is that the opposition is trying to re-define Ben Jones, to make him seem to be somebody else, since they are having trouble running against the real Ben Jones.
Perhaps the most ridiculous charge I read that Ben Jones was “swooping and carpet bagging from state to state:. Is a “carpet bagger” someone who was not bom in Virginia? Ben Jones was bom and raised in Portsmouth, Va. Well then is a “carpet bagger: someone who has moved into Rappahannock County? By that standard it would appear
