ordinary citizens in the 7th District and asking them to help his campaign with small contributions, because his campaign chest is filled to the brim with mega contributions from special interest groups. Mr. Jones is following the difficult but ethical path by refusing to accept contributions from political action committees (PACs) and other special interests.
Perhaps Mr. Hagstrom is envious of the effective grassroots efforts of Ben Jones and his Democrat followers. If so, he should come and attend some of our meetings. It is wonderful to see the enthusiasm and hard work that goes into Ben Jones’ campaign.
Mr. Hagstrom would also be enlightened as to where Ben Jones stands on issues if he attended some of these events. Ben Jones speaks candidly about his position on controversial political issues; he is not a wishy-washy politician straggling the fence. Tbo bad Eric Cantor is afraid to engage in public debates with Ben Jones, to help voters decide who is the better candidate.
It is sad that Mr. Hagstrom spills so much venom on anyone who does not share his political views. As we all know, the country is currently divided pretty evenly between Democrats and Republicans. Regardless of our political orientation, we should all work together toward making our country an even better place to live. Disparaging each other is not the way to accomplish this.
