Morgan Johnson of Washington entered a 20 inch, four pound six ounce bass in a contest sponsored by Bill’s Sporting Goods Store in Front Royal. The fish was caught with a jitterbug. A larger bass had been entered by a Front Royal resident that was one inch longer and one ounce heavier.
Over 400 school patrons and friends of education visited the Rappahannock County High School on Sunday, Sept. 18 when the Rappahannock County Education Association held open house.
Members of the Rappahannock Garden Club provided fall floral arrangements for each room.
The Flint Hill firemen will begin their series of fall and winter square dances at the fire hall every other Friday night with the opening dance scheduled for this week. Music will be by Bill Bailey and the Rhythm Ramblers. Admission is $1 per person.
Miss Mary Norman Davis left Tuesday to resume her studies at Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Davis Jr.
Miss Susan Laing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas G. Laing of Bunree Farm, Amissville entered Colby Junior College, New London, N.H. on Sunday as a member of the freshman class.
