Unfortunately, the run for the extra points that would have tied the score was stopped by a determined Strasburg defense.
When the clock ran out a minute later, the Panthers had been defeated 14 to 12 in what was clearly a quality contest between two equally matched football teams. Strasburg had 209 total yards on offense and the Panthers had 204. Rapp running back, Nick Compton led all runners on the day gaining 127 yards on 23 carries. Corbin gained 35 yards on the ground and completed 2 of 3 passes for the Rapp side. He also led the Panther defense with 6 unassisted tackles. Freshman Justin Gheen, one of the inside linebackers, also had a good day on defense with 5 unassisted tackles.
After the game Head Coach ' Pullin said, “It was a tough game, well played by both teams, either side could have won. It would have been nice to win before a great home crowd, but the boys have nothing to be ashamed of. They played hard and never gave up. We gave ourselves a chance to win. We’re a competitive football team. That’s all you can ask for. Hopefully, the fans will follow the t^am to the remaining away' games and continue to provide the terrific support like we’ve had so far. I can’t describe what a great feeling it was to be on the sidelines with that home crowd behind us for this game.”
