Colonial Downs will usher in its fifth annual harness meet on Saturday,Oct. 5 and continue a six-week, 24-program campaign through Nov. 12.
Standardbred horsemen will compete for average daily purses of $50,000 every Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday this fall.
Post time is 1 p.m. for all cards.
Racing secretary Craig Andow has programmed nine late-closing stake events, each of which has between four and five legs. Purses for the final leg of each stake go for between $10,000 and $20,000,
Perhaps most interesting though, especially to the handicappers, is the distance of each stake final.
