kick from the ran there but was unable to do anything. After an exchange of punts from the teams, the fans were treated to the first ever Rappahannock County HS touchdown scored on Panther territory. Freshman running back Nick Compton took the handoff from quarterback Dylan Corbin and busted loose after a big block on the line by tackle Howie Clark. Compton outran the Strasburg secondary for a 60 yard score and gave the home team a 6 to 0 lead. The run for the extra points was stopped by the Ram defense and the Panthers led by six as the first quarter ended.
The Rapp defense was playing the run extremely well and forced the visiting Strasburg quarterback to go to the air. With 6’5’ freshman Jonah Rodrigues as wide receiver and primary target, the Rams knotted the score with a touchdown of their own. The Strasburg quarterback found Rodrigues open in the Panther secondary, midway through the second quarter and completed the pass. The lanky Ram receiver shook off one Panther tackier and rambled for a 57 yard TD. After the extra point kick was missed wide right the half came to an end with the score tied at six apiece.
