The second half had the Panthers and Rams locked in a struggle for the victory. The third quarter ended with the score still tied and the crowd sensing that whoever scored next would win. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Rams seized the moment with a sweep around their right side that broke the game open.
Several Rapp tacklers had a shot at the Strasburg running back but failed to knock him off his feet. He scrambled for a 42 yard touchdown that was followed by a run for the extra points and a 14 to 6 Ram lead with about four minutes left in the game. The situation did not look good for the home side and the Strasburg defense continued to bottle up the Panther running game.
Coach Pullin decided to put in some “razzle-dazzle” stuff to try and break a big play and get the Panthers back in the game. The first one was putting quarterback Dylin Corbin at wide receiver where he took off on a 20 yard reverse that almost broke free for a TD. Two plays later Corbin handed off to halfback Anthony Clinedinst who ran left and threw to an open Alex Sharp cutting through the Starsburg secondary on the halfbackoption play.
Clinedinst threw a perfect strike and Sharp hauled it in for a 31 yard touchdown play that was as pretty as anything you’ve seen oh Sunday TV.
