Wakefield Manor Inc., has donated to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation (VOF) a conservation easement protecting its entire 1,069acre property, which is situated on US 522 north of Flint Hill. Signed by Wakefield Manor President Robert Dickey, the new easement incorporates and amends three earlier easements donated since 1979 covering parts of the farm.
Now, the entire property may never be divided into more than nine parcels. And the easement document contains extensive language governing the size, location, and visibility of future structures, particularly along Route 522 or near Shenandoah National Park.
