The population of the State of Virginia has increased in the past ten years, according to the 1960 census, but Rappahannock County has decreased in population by 744 inhabitants.
The census taken in 1950 listed Rappahannock’s people as 6,112 as compared to the April 1960 count of 5,368 which is over a 15 percent drop.
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will have its annual Greens Sale on Dec. 21 starting at 10 a.m. and lasting until noon at the educational building of Washington Baptist Church. In addition to wreaths, arrangements and decorations, there will be the usual holiday goodies for sale.
On Dec. 6, sixteen senior girls at Rappahannock County High school took the Betty Crocker Homemakers test. This a 50 minute written examination on homemaking knowledge and attitudes taken by graduating senior girls in high schools throughout the United States.
