The community Thanksgiving service that was held on Nov. 27 set a record. There was close to 300 people at Amissville Baptist Church, and the service lasted until 9 p.m.
A special thank you to all the churches that participated: Amissville Full Gospel, United Methodist, Forest Grove, Bethel Baptist, New Harvest Christian as well as the Amissville Ruritan Club.
We collected a ton of food for the baskets, and the praise band was fantastic. Thank you to Mary Hitt, Thelma Martin, Amy Hitt, and Bonnie and Jerry Curtis for their work on the refreshments afterwards.
It is time for our annual community food baskets fund drive. The Amissville Ruritan Club, along with several others in our community, started this tradition many years ago and we continue it to help those in our community that are in need
