Luminaria, traditionally used around homes and churches to light a pathway to a door, are being sold by the Washington and Flint Hill United Methodist Churches. The use of luminaria is an age old custom begun by a colony along the Rio Grande River in Mexico, said to light the way for Christ on Christmas Eve.

Girl Scouts from Junior Troop 547 and Brownie Troop 929 gathered at the library last Friday to trim the tree. They stopped long enough to pose for a picture before returning to the fun. Included were Halley Clark, Kyla Andreoni, Elaine Smith, Amanda Clark, Corey Alexander, Stacy Jenkins, Katie Welch, Emily Crabtree, Emily Bare and Amanda Brown.
