Johns gives us a view of the majesty of Africa with the photograph, Elephant Parade on the Chobe River. A series of four of these massive and magnificent beasts have waded the river and are receding into the distance. The almost perfect spacing of the animals contributes a sense of perspective. Above, in a dramatic sky, billowy clouds also recede to the vanishing point. Thus the size and power of Africa are captured in an instant.
