So, I almost skipped the peak of the latest Leonid meteor showers last month, knowing it would be at the dreaded predawn hours of a cold night. However since my dog (who is pretty close to perfect in every other way) tries to get me up every morning around 5 a.m. anyway, I thought, what the heck, I might as well go out and stand around in the cold and freeze my rear end off looking into the night sky while she takes care of her business.
