idents Brenda and John VanNess for their generous sponsorship of this unique program. In a subsequent interview after the show, Brenda VanNess (a parent of third and fourth grade students at Wakefield) provided this insight into why her family decided to sponsor Mark Jaster at Wakefield.

“We felt we could bring joy to our community through Mark Jaster’s unique humor and talent,” VanNess explained. Continuing, she added, “This event was specifically opened to all citizens of our county as a community outreach program to help people understand that more than academics is required to round out a student’s life. Laughter yields happiness and happiness is a healing mechanism in these uncertain times.”

Laughter and happiness certainly was the order of the day at Wakefield Country Day School.
