“The original idea was to concentrate on farmers with lots of land who needed money. The program would allow them to get cash and still farm,” explained Zoning Administrator John McCarthy. The Massie property was larger in price and size than had been originally visualized for the program.
“All those organizations aren’t going to kick in this money every time,” said Hampton District Supervisor Bryant Lee.
