bulletin board at Culpeper Music is full to overflowing with the photos of area youngsters with musical aspirations. He could tell you every one of those kids’ names and what their musical talents were. Any picker you asked about, young or old, was “a pretty darn good musician.” Even if you could play only three chords, if you gave it your best you were an alright musician in Tbmmi’s book. I shudder to think how much money musicians, who never have a spare penny but always want a better instrument, owe Tbmmi Reynolds. If you saw a guitar you wanted, he’d say, “Take it on home and try it out for a couple of weeks. If it’s okay, come back and give me some money.” A musician told a story the other night about Tommi taking a guitar in on trade and then, after the guy left, looking at the instrument and remarking, “Hey! This was my guitar that I let him use years ago.”
