There was another story about a guy — who Tbmmi had never seen before — who wanted a $250 instrument but only had a credit card. “I don’t want that plastic,” Ibmmi cried. “Take the guitar and come back when you’ve got some real money.” Two hours later the man came back with the cash.
And Culpeper High band director Duane Clore recalled how “there was never a poor kid who wanted an instrument that Ibmmi didn’t let him have.” Culpeper Music will never be the same without Reynolds. It was a daily hangout for traveling musicians and anyone else who wanted some company and good conversation. And Tbmmi was the catalyst. He knew every musician within 200 miles and they all knew him. You got to know other pickers through Ibrnmi.
“I wonder if anyone will ever know how much Ibmmi Reynolds did for people in this community,” Clore said at the funeral home. Probably not.
