Burdick wins first place
in essay competition
Tyler Burdick of Flint Hill won first place in the 2005-2006 Veterans of Foreign Wars Patriot’s Pen Essay Competition for the Eighth District, Department of Virginia. His family accompanied him to the awards presentation in Manassas on March 12. The Patriot’s Pen topic this year was “Who are Today’s Patriots?” Tyler’s essay advanced to the District level after winning first place at the VFW Local Post 2524 in Culpeper. Tyler is an eighth grade student and is home schooled.
