NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INTENTION TO
ADOPT ORDINANCES BY THE TOWN OF
WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA
KINDLY TAKE NOTICE that the Town Council and Planning Commission of the Town of Washington, Virginia will hold a joint public hearing on the 12th day of April, 2006, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall of Washington, Virginia to consider the adoption of the following ordinances:
1. An ordinance to amend and re-enact Articles 1 and 5 of the Zoning Ordinances of the Town of Washington, Virginia to create a Government Sen/ices Zoning District providing for government related uses by right and antennas and structures exceeding 35’ by special use permit and to establish development standards including minimum lot size and setbacks.
2. An application by the Town of Washington, Virginia to re-zone 4.00 acres, a portion of Tax Map 20A-1-115, a portion of the “Avon Hall” property, to Government Services if such ordinance be adopted by the Town of Washington.
3. To adopt as part of the Town Code a new “Cross Connection Ordinance” providing standards for connection to the Town of Washington public water system and installation of back flow prevention devices, inspection of certain users and related matters.
A complete copy of the proposed ordinances and re-zoning application are available at the town offices during normal business hours.
All are invited to attend the public hearing at the time and place aforesaid and present their views.
