This is no reflection on any English person today, as I lived in London for 14 years and found the natives delightful and I still communicate and visit on occasion, but anybody who would think a person of his character deserves a day of celebration over a saint needs their head examined.
Perhaps next year Griffin Tavern will delight us with a celebration of Cromwell.
