The Tbwn of Washington and
Rappahannock County share many concerns. One of our principal problems is dealing with the inherent conflict between care for the environment and the pressures of growth. We see it in the counties around us. Our objective is to restrict growth so that the impact on the environment is minimized. We wish to preserve individual rights while protecting the rights and welfare of the community. In the case of the Town of Washington sewer system, we identify our needs and then access the desires of the community. For this, the Comprehensive Plan is the instrument for the definition of the vision of the community for its future.
