JOINT PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA

PURSUANT to Section 6-1-1 of the Town of Washington Zoning Ordinance and Section 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Town Council and Planning Commission of Washington, Virginia, will hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 7:30 pm in the Town Hall on Gay and Calvert Streets in Washington, Virginia, in order to consider the following application:

TW RZ #06-03-01 Application by the Town of Washington for the rezoning of a proposed 4.0 acre parcel of land (portion of Tax Map 20A-1, Parcel 115), a portion of the Avon Hall property, to be rezoned from the existing RR Rural Residential zoning category to a new proposed GS Government Services category. Said rezoning application contingent upon adoption by the Council of the new proposed GS zoning category and related standards, the subject of a public hearing at the same meeting. The Town Council proposes to sell the proposed parcel to the County of Rappahannock. Rezoning allowed under Section 9-1-1 of the Town of Washington Zoning Ordinance.

A COPY of the foregoing application is on file at the Zoning Office in Washington, Virginia, and is available for public inspection, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Said application will be reviewed by the Town of Washington Planning Commission first for such recommendation as the Commission may wish to make pursuant to Section 9-3, if any, and then considered by the Council. The above-named applicant, adjacent property owners, and any other parties desiring to be heard should be present at said meeting or should address their written comments to the Town Council, do PO.
