No matter what way the order is now, Rappahannock County head softball coach Richie Burke knows where he wants to he when the Group A Bull Run District season ends.
“Right now, we’re in the top of the mix,” he said, adding, “but my plan is to he on top.”
The view from the top is especially nice, particularly when it takes a pair of upsets to put one there.
Last spring, the Lady Panthers entered the district tournament as the third seed. They surprised second-seeded Manassas Park and top-seeded Madison to capture the championship and advance to the Region B tournament.
“Because we were young, we waited until the last minute to blossom,” Burke said.
