A 24-year-old Timberville man is dead after a motorcycle wreck Sunday on U.S. 211 near Shenandoah National Park.
Justin Daniel Flory was driving his 2006 Honda CBR 100 westbound at about 2:30 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle on a sharp turn and slammed into the front a Ford truck traveling in the east bound lane.
State Trooper Brandon Johnson reported to the scene. According to his report, Flory was exceeding the speed limit at the time of the accident and was responsible for the collision.
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department and Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded to the wreck and transported Flory to Fauquier Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Washington Chief Ann Spieker said this is the second fatal motorcycle wreck in that winding stretch of US. 211 this summer and the fifth in the past two years.
