Following a processional into the vineyard with Latin hymns performed by Christendom Choir, the vines will be blessed by the Rev. Monsignor W. Ronald Jameson of the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C.
“It’s a major honor for us to have him here,” Salahi said. “The blessing itself is of the vines and the vineyard, the good health of the grapes and, thus, to the people who drink the wine.”
Guests will then be treated to a scrumptious menu prepared by Chef Morou Ouattara, winner of the Washington area Iron Chef America competition in 2005.
