Volunteers
needed
Rappahannock County prides itself on its volunteers. If you’re a movie buff and value those Friday Night at the Flicks series sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community, this is a perfect time to step forward with your popcorn making services. Or perhaps selling tickets. And then there’s the cleanup afterwards. New “soles” are needed. Those who have been tirelessly bringing the county these twice monthly movie gems are literally worn out with all their running around. While the tasks may seem tedious, they don’t take much time. You could even help without staying to see the movie. On September 7, “The Queen” will be featured at The Theatre starting at 8 p.m. If you can be a “new sole” please contact either Rosie Mullany at 675-3163 or Margaret Brown at 6753878. They need some help.
Football fans
There are still some raffle tickets available for a chance to win seats for the upcoming Redskins season. The drawing is September 5 and if you are the lucky winner you’ll take home four premium tickets on the 40 yard line plus reserved parking You 11 also get to choose which home game you’d like to see. They are $10 per ticket but the best bet is three tickets for $25. Stop by the Rappahannock News office to buy your chance or email Anita Sherman at asherman@timespapers.com and she’ll get them to you. All proceeds benefit the Hospice of the Rapidan.
