There was no column last week because we were away for two weeks seeing the grandchildren on the West Coast. We keep working, as do so many of you, on how to make l«r>g distant grand parenting work

The dictionary definition of a yurt is a circular tent of felt or skins on a collapsible framework, used by nomads in Mongolia, Siberia, and Turkey. Ray and I took our grandsons to Guemes Island and stayed in a thoroughly modem version of a yurt...20* diameter, wood flora; beds with linens, two lights and deck with picnic table. It was great! Nestled among cedar and pine trees that soared to 80 ft., we had no worries about the noises of Joe, 8, and Skyler ,5, disturbing others.
