Superintendent requests State School
Efficiency Review
During the 2004-2005 school year, Superintendent Dr. Robert Chappell petitioned the state for a “School Efficiency Review" of the Rappahannock County public schools. In the spring of2007, the State Department of Planning and Budget agreed to schedule a review for the schools.
Chappell wrote to Rappahannnock News:
Tve contacted the State several times during the summer to remind them that we want to get the review done this fall before the budget development process gets underway. I'm still awaiting confirmation. We feel that we have a pretty lean budget and spend the taxpayers’ money frugally. However, we are always open to ideas to improve.” Annual notification
to parents and
employees
In an effort to protect students while they travel to and from school, attend school or are at school-related activities, the Rappahannock County public schools have requested electronic notification of the registration or re-registration of any sex offender in the same or contiguous zip codes as the school. Rappahannock County public schools began this several years ago when the state started providing the information. The schools are in the process of providing employees access to the list of persons who are found on the state police website:
