Pearl Ester Smoot, 71, of Chester Gap, passed away on November 1, at Winchester Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 9, 1935 in Rappahannock County to Charles Woodard and Esther Jenkins.
Mrs. Smoot devoted her life to caring for her home and raising her children.
She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Smoot of Chester Gap and Mike Smoot of Flint Hill; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Tony Woodard of Sperryville; and four sisters, Anna Dodson of Front Royal, Margaret O’Donnell of Madison, Lilly Fincham of Front Royal, and Dorothy Smoot of Stephens City.
A graveside funeral service was held at Washington Masonic Cemetery in Washington, VA on Saturday, November 3, with the Rev. John Burke officiating
