BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, VIRGINIA

Pursuant to Section 170-129 of the Rappahannock County Code and Section 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals for Rappahannock County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Thursday December 20, 2007 at seven-thirty in the evening in the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, in order to consider the following applications:

SU 07-10-01 William F. and Janet W. Pumphrey, Trustees, owners of a 0 59901 acre parcel located at 23 Main Street, Sperryville (Tax Map 38A-1, Parcel 16, zoned VC-Village Commercial, Piedmont District), desire a Special Use permit to convert an existing “summer kitchen" into an efficiency apartment for rental to no more than two persons. Use allowed pursuant to Code Section 170-36A of the Rappahannock County Code; additional standarda under Code Section 170-62F.

SU 07-11-01 Tanya Roland, lessee of the property located at 218 Grand View Road, Washington (10.06 acres, Tax Map 29B-1, Parcel 30, zoned A-Agricultural, Hampton District), desires a Special Use permit to teach yoga to up to eight persons in the basement of the dwelling. James E. and Virginia C. Botsford own the property. Use allowed pursuant to Code Section 170-368 of the Rwpahannock County Codi; additional standards under Code Section 17D43B and C.

No applicant or other party in interest and no attorney for an applicant or party in interest, shall initiate a contact with a member of the BZA for tne purpose of conducting a private discussion, in person or by telephone, concerning the merits of any application, appeal, or other matter pending before the BZA. No member of the BZA shall participate in any such private discussion. Site visits or similar contacts initiated by BZA members shall not constitute such ex parte contacts. A copy of the foregoing applications are on file at the Zoning Office in Washington, Virginia, and are available for public inspection, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Said applications will be presented to the Rappahannock County Planning Commission at their regular meeting on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at seven-thirty in the evening at the Rappahannock County Courthouse for such recommendation as the Commission may wish to make pursuant to Section 170-55, if any. The above-named applicants, adjacent property owners, and any other parties desiring to be heard should be present at said meetings or should address their written comments to the Board of Zoning Appeals, do P.O.
