State trooper Chris Roop pulled over a maroon Lincoln Continental shortly after 9 a.m. for speeding according to law enforcement officials. The driver got out and fled on foot with Roop in pursuit up a hill, thick with brambles, near Lee’s Orchard. Roop had a piece of equipment snag on an old fence and he fell, dislocating his shoulder.
The passenger, who authorities declined to name, was detained and questioned. He said he had just met the suspect - a stranger to him - at Hackley’s Store in Amissville and the man had approached him on the pretext
