Archie Watkins, from North Caroline, will be in concert at the Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church,
Washington on Sunday,’May 3 at 10 a.m. Watkins was a founding member and tenor singer for 45 years with The Inspirations Quartet. Mitchell’s life
A celebration for Claudia Mitchell, who died on Feb. 23, and, in honor of her many contributions to the Rappahannock community, will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 3 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington.
A reception on the lawn between the Theatre and the old bank building will follow the celebration at 4 p.m. Those wishing to accompany the ashes to Red Oak Mountain will depart from the reception at 5 p.m., for a brief prayer service on the mountain at 5:30 p.m.
