At $75,000, the featured Virginia Gold Cup timber classic shares the spotlight as the richest timber races on the National Steeplechase Association circuit this year.
The race, sponsored by Galen Capital, for '09, was worth $100,000 “ in 2007, making it the richest tim| ber race ever in the world.
The Maryland Hunt Cup, run in April, also offers a $75,000 purse.
Title sponsors at this year's meet include Infinitive, Novo I Nordisk, Creighton Farms, Subaru of America and Dulles Subaru.
