The racehorse is the only animal that can carry — figuratively speaking, of course — a whole crowd along for the ride.
rhat used to be a quaint turn of phrase used to describe the sensual thrills of'chase day — smelling the horse sweat and leather, hearing the thundering hooves, seeing the flash of colorful silks, feeling the thunder of hooves underfoot and tasting the sunshine and spring air.
But in today’s Internet age, the steeplechase horse can literally take us on a tour.
What started as a whim for professional steeplechase jockey and trainer Patrick Cooney has turned his Facebook page into something of a classic.
"I thought it would be a great way to show my owners what their horse was doing,” said the Irishman who has been based in Virginia for nearly two decades.
He figured out a way to mount a lightweight digital video camera — barely two ounces — on the side of his helmet. From the jockeys eye view, Cooney's owners could see how their horse performed,
