(daughter-in-law) and I had a yard sale. At twelve o’clock Missy told me to stay with the yard sale and she was going to my house, get the cake, and deliver it to Pulaski.

“I should have thought something her not wanting me to help* But, she informed me, ‘I can do it.’ And I said, ‘OK.’

“So I had all that yard sale stuff to pack up. In the meantime they took the cake up to Cartersville Heights where Todd our son lives. I didn’t know it, but they had sent out all these invitations and there ended up being a lot of people there.

“We didn’t know, going up to Todd’s, that there was an occasion just for us.

“The way I was dressed would blow your mind. I had a pair of red shorts, a white top, and my top had a red lighthouse on it. Paul was wearing a pair of red pants with a white shirt. We had been working the yard sale and didn’t know something special was going to happen.”

Although surprised, the party meant a great deal to Faye and Paul. Nodding in agreement, both Paul and Faye add, “It was very nice and meant a lot to us.”

From my interviews, I believe family means a great deal to both Faye and Pam. Pam explains, "Compromise and listening is the key. You have to listen to both sides and get the other side of the story. I listen more to my mom now because I was always Daddy’s girl.

“But any problems I have I can always go to my mom. It is very special to have somebody you can always turn to.

“I have always tried to be like my mom and be there for my kids, try and listen when my kids talk. There is so much going on it can be easy to tune the kids out, but Mama always listened and I try tb do the same. ”

President Wbodrow Wilson must have had a mother like Faye Howry. He wanted all mothers to be remembered and appreciated at least once a year on Mother’s Day. For Faye’s family, the appreciation and love of family is every day.
