Once arrested the offenders were taken before acting “Circuit Judge” Pat Davis, who is really Clerk of the Combined District Court. Once at the courthouse the “offender” was given the opportunity to make bond or make phone calls to raise their bond. The bond amounts were set by the person issuing the bond.
Among those arrested were, Building Inspector Richie Burke, former sheriff John Henry Woodwardr Jack Atkins of the County Building Office as well as Rappahannock National Bank President and CEO Michael Leake.
All of those arrested took it with a smile and seemed more than happy to help the cause.
