The annual Miss Rappahannock Pageant, a long tradition in Rappahannock County, was revived this year under the leadership of Deanna Wayland of the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad.

At the end of Saturday evening, with a winning combination of intelligence and elegance, Rappahannock County High School Honor Society student Clarissa Marie Rutherford was crowned Miss Rappahannock by Anna Owens, Miss Rappahannock 2007. Sarah Elliot was first runner-up.

The Miss Rappahannock Pageant is a fundraiser for the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad and is an event that many folks look forward to each year. It was suspended last year because the SVRS was in a rebuilding
