According to information received from the Tennessee Valley Authority, that organization will soon open three Young Adult Conservation Camps in the southwestern part of Virginia, Eastern Tennessee and in northern Alabama. Opening of the camps will create some 300 jobs.
Sponsored in cooperation with the Department of The Interior, the camps will be located in the Commonwealth, in the Clinchport-Duffield area of Scott County. Other camps will be located in the Oliver SpringsLake City area of Anderson County, Tenn., and in the Bear Creek WatershedRussellville area of Franklin County, Alabama. Applications for the YACC program are available ac tne state employment offices. Applicants must be 16-23 years of age, unemployed, and able to give the assurance that they have not left school for the purpose of entering the YACC program.
