Academy
Applications
High school seniors in Virginia’s Seventh Congressional District who are interested in attending one of the armed forces academies next year should apply now, according to the District’s Congressman, J. Kenneth Robinson.
Robinson announced he will decide around the first of the year on his nominations for appointments to the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs for classes entering next July.
“The final selections of the best qualified among my nominees will be made by the academy authorities,” Robinson said. “In nominating, I consider high school academic and extracurricular achievement, the degree of motivation toward a career in the armed forces and, in particular, scores on the College Entrance Board Examination.’’
Young men and women wishing to be considered for one of Robinson’s nominations should write to him promptly c-o the House of Representatives, Washington, D. C. 20515. Applicants must be U. S. citizens, single, legal residents of the district, and between the ages of 17 and 22 as of July 1, 1978.
