General Assembly—over 1,000 bills during the last two month session with another thousand introduced but not passed.

Beard is a Culpeper banker with years of experience in financial matters. His background gives him the edge in weighing budget questions—increasingly important issues as inflation continues to take bigger and bigger bites from both wallets and local tax coffers.

The Rappahannock News will not endorse either “Butch” Davies or George Beard. We feel this District is lucky to have candidates of such high caliber. Too many elections boil down to choosing between the lesser of two evils. This is not the case here. Both men have the ability to serve with distinction in the House of Delegates. In addition, we feel that both would be approachable to their constituents and eager to follow the wishes of the folks back home.

We urge all registered voters to go to the polls on Tuesday. No matter who wins in the race for the General Assembly seat, the 26th District will have a Delegate of whom it can feel proud.
