ERA Petition

The Ad-Hoc Committee for the E.R.A. will be collecting signature* on petitions in support of the Equal Rights Amendment on Election Day at three precincts in Rappahannock County. Similar petitioning will be going on throughout the state.

Proponents of the E.R.A. hope to persuade whomever is elected as delegate that there is widespread support for the Amendment in the county by sampling voters at Sperryville, Flint Hill and Amissville.

Voters in other precincts will be solicited for signatures between election day and the time the General Assembly takes up the amendment in January or February. Anyone interested in helping with the petitioning on Election Day should contact Delores Dalton at 675*3236 in the afternoons or evenings.
